And Away We Go!

We are totally packed for our trip to Florida. The dining room is full of tote boxes, suitcases, containers of every size and shape. There is only one problem, 11 more inches of snow on top of the 43 inches we have had this winter. This will be the snowest (is there such a word?) winter on record. Road conditions are horrible. Spin-outs and accidents all over the interstates. Since discretion is the better part of valor we have postponed our leaving for 24 hours. Give the plows and salters a chance to do their job. The new website I discovered shows road conditions all over the state. Ice, Snow, traffic volume, good site to view before traveling. Buckeyetraffic.org. I guess the State has been implanting sensors in the roads all over the state. The one wonderful thing about this storm is the beauty of it all. The area is a "winter wonderland". The trees are covered, the squirrels have to jump in the air to take their next step, and the birds are all puffed up in their feathers, making them all look pregnant. Today we will load the car, gas it up and begin our adventure. Wish us luck. Next blog will come from Captiva Island. Al
